HTTP Error 403- Forbidden

Ok so I cleared the ARP Cache, everything went fine. I did another "repair my connection" and everything went fine. I'm still getting this message when I try to look anything up. I've ping'd a few different websites and all of them seem to be responding just fine. The connection is great, we're on a network and every other computer works except for 1 and I'm trying to solve the problem... Does someone know whatelse could be the problem, and if so...can you please help??!!!!??

Thanks,
Debbie

The next place I would look would be the proxy setup in my web browser.

If you are using Internet Explorer, this is under Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings.

If that looks clean, I would download and install Spybot Search & Destroy and AdAware to make sure that my system was free of adware.

I would also temporarily disable security software such as Norton Internet Security to make sure that isn't causing the trouble.

Yup everything looks clean and I've already done the adware search, so I really don't understand what it is. I think there's something in the computer because it's happened before and only once we've rebooted the network router, the internet would work. I'd like to get rid of the problem without having to reset anything and bringing all the other computers down. I wonder if there may be a virus or something on it.

I can't imagine how a layer 3 device like a network router would produce a layer 7 error like 403. <thinking>

Can you test to determine if this is a web browser issue? If you use Internet Explorer, you can test this by installing Firefox or Opera.

I went ahead and tried to install firefox and netscape, but the problem of not getting on is still there, but now it just says access denied....it's really frustrating.

At least that rules out your web browser.

Are you running any security software on that PC, such as Norton Internet Security?

Can you disable all security software, including the Windows Firewall, and test again?

I think it's just that it's a Dell and for some reason the OS became corrupt. There's no firewall enabled or antivirus...it's just got cancer hehehe I think we're just going to switchout one of our extra (goodworking) computers with the bad one. Maybe my boss will let me take the bad computer home and I can fix it somehow.
