Wireless is a topic very close to my heart... and profession. GoPC, the Company, was divided into two parts. One half built and distributed the GoPC Brand of PCs, Set-top devices and Network PCs (the GoPro, GoPC|nc and the GoPCjr) while the other half was a for-hire tech design and develpment firm.

Some years ago we began developing a Wireless Connectivity Solution specifically for palatized networks. These would have been for officies, hospitals, hotels, etc. We discovered that the process we were using to distribute our network was applicable to so much more. Most significantly, the Internt itself. What we discovered was simple yet profound...

The KEY to Wirelss Internet is distrbuted Networking

Of course, the proper algorythms and support technologies had to be developed but the point remains, the FLAW in evey wireless internet system on the market is that they are point-to-multipoint dependant.

To combat that, companies like Wifi have began deployment of "hot spots" that give very small point-to-point connectivity in an attempt to create a multi-point-to-multipoint network. But it is still a flawed thinking. For a number of reasons... the first of which is COST. The others should be just as obvious.

ARI, GoPC's research wing, developed a technology we refer to as "intelligent routing" that creates a true multipoint-to-multipoint wirelss network because of ONE specific and unique feature that is based in distributed networking.... EVERY USER IS A BROADCAST POINT.

The more "routes" you have for the data to travel, the less route dependant the network becomes. Consequently, the better the connectivity, the higher the transfer rates and the more cost effective the deployment.

We are in the process of selling the technology to a larger, more capable company, so I can't go into to many details on the technology at this point, but suffice it to say that this technology can be deployed for a fraction of the cost of every other compeitior, be delivered to the end users at $40 a month flat-rate for 11 MBPS capability and be integrated into an ENTIRE market in less than a Month.

NO Hot Spots. Total Mobile Connectivity. High durability. Low latency. Reliable Wirelss Connectivity.

The moment the rest of the World discover the secret to how we are doing this (or buy one of our units and reverse engineer it) the problem of wide spread disconnectivity for wireless providers will cease to exist.

It will be a GREAT day then... indeed.
