Question - Network backup device

I'm looking for a network backup device. Any suggestion for this matter?? We have a remote office without a server in which the computers are only connected via router/switch. Making a shared external hard drive will tend to slow the computer hooked up on it.

Hey tmluke,

By device do you mean hardware or software?

Isn't Acronis just the software to back up the data? I read you can load it onto one of the PC's on site and use that PC to store the backup. Neat if you haven't a server. But, wouldn't even a modest server be better than using one of the networked PC? This is kinda new to me... so I don't know!

Here is what Acronis can do for you. I just cut & pasted the websites description. Iomega looks expensive, but if that is what you need?? I believe it said their one terabyte unit was $799.99 and Acronis was $79.99
I guess whatever suits your needs...

I am going to guess that is does not back up in real time, but that is a guess. I have only ever used acronis for creating an image of a single computer. You will have to research yourself on their site. They have a toll free number as well. You have to do some homework!!
