Server 2003 as gateway

Hello All

I am trying to set up a Server 2003 box as a gateway. It is multi homed with the local card set static and the wan card set dynamic using my DSL modems dhcp. The server handles dhcp fine for the other clients on my network but I don't know how to have it act as a gateway. When I have the hardware in place the only computer that can get to the Internet is the server itself. All of the local services work correctly (NFS and SMB file servers, print server, rdp, dhcp, ssh.) I do have routing and remote access running but there does not seem to be much information in the Microsoft 70-291 book on how to configure the router (routing service) as a simple gateway.

Can anyone help me with this issue.

Also if it is a simple fix, how do I lock down the ports. I run some web based management software on my Linux boxes and those ports have to be turned off. I also need to forward other ports ftp, ssh, web servers, and what not.

Sorry to be so long winded (key stroked)
Thanks
Jeremy

It's difficult to tell what specifically is wrong with your setup, so I recommend that you follow Microsoft's Checklist: Installing and configuring the router.

It covers all of the necessary steps, including managing packet filters.
