Setting up lynksys router

Last month I had the Geek Squad come to my house because I was having a problem with my router. He told me that my router had been reset. He introduced me to whole local ip thing and showed me how to set it up. I think that my router has been reset again somehow. Now, when i try to put my local ip into my web browser (the number he gave me), the page won't come up. This way I would be able to reconfigure the settings and have encryption.

I would consider myself new to this whole thing. Any feedback would be extremely appreciated!

Thanks!

It could be that the LinkSys is now configured to accept connections to the admin GUI only from a wired connection. It could very well be purposefully ignoring your attempts to connect via your wireless connection.

I recommend trying this again after plugging into the LinkSys with an Ethernet cable.

The %20 is an encoded space character. You need to get rid of that. You also need to get rid of the extra forward slash and the question mark.

Point your web browser to http://192.168.1.1 and you should be good.

If it has been reset like you thought then it could have gone back to it's default IP...although you could already be using that, personally I don't use 192.168.x.x addresses because they are usually defaults. But if it's somehow reset to factory settings, which is unlikely then try the default IP (read the manual)

http://192.168.1.1 is the default for LinkSys devices.
