Quick VoIP Question

My parents are considering getting VoIP. I was wondering if you can download/surf or game on the internet while someone is using the phone? Kind of like how you can't talk on the phone with dial-up (I know they don't work the same way, but performance-wise)?

Yes, you can use voice and data concurrently.

There will be a performance hit, but you may not even notice it unless you look for it.
