Channel bandwidth

Conceptually, C Band frequency plan has 24 channel with 36MHz of bandwidth each.
(12 vertical and 12 horizontal)

How about the extended C band?

Conceptually, C Band frequency plan has 24 channel with 36MHz of bandwidth each.
(12 vertical polarization and 12 horizontal polarization)

How if the signal is transmitted in circular polarization?
Can the transponder recoqnize it?

Thanks

I am a bit leery of making statements regarding Extended C Band, because it's not completely standard across the globe.

However, it does appear standard to use 36Mhz channels on Extended C Band. Therefore, you should be able to figure out the number of channels by taking the available bandwidth and dividing by 36Mhz.

If the transponder is using circular polarization, the number of channels will be reduced by 50%.

Only if the transponder is designed to use circular polarization.
