DirecTV..getting east coast feed on west coast?

Question, I maybe moving from East Coast to West Coast and want to still have at least one TV that is receiving East Coast programming.

Anyway to do this?

Can I have them install west coast and then add east coast with a billing address? Does the dish have to be pointed differently or something? Can my current directv card just be popped in at will to get that programming?

Most of the DirecTV transponders broadcast to the entire continental U.S. (CONUS). Therefore, technically you should be able to receive your East coast programming on the West coast. DirecTV 5 is the only DirecTV satellite which is in an orbital slot which prevents it from reacing the entire CONUS.

I have not played with what you are trying to do, but I would try these two things:

1. Configure my receiver for my old Zip code (after pointing the dish correctly).

2. Call DirecTV and ask for the East coast feeds (this was recommended to me just now by a DirecTV contractor).
