Can you tell us more about what you are looking for? Can you tell us what you mean by useful? What are you trying to achieve?

I am guessing that you must have already read these?

Digital Video Broadcasting : The International Standard for Digital Television

DVB : The Family of International Standards for Digital Video Broadcasting

Digital Television: MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and Principles of the DVB System

Digital television, DVB-T COFDM and ATSC 8-VSB

For those not familiar with DVB-RCS:

DVB-RCS stands for Digital Video Broadcast - Return Channel Satellite.

DVB-RCS is part of the DVB standards for satellite communication.

The RCS component of DVB is of interest primarily for its use in providing Internet service over satellite.

DVB-RCS is officially defined in ETSI EN 301 790: Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB); Interaction channel for satellite distribution systems.

Probably more useful is ETSI EN 101 790: Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB);Interaction channel for Satellite Distribution Systems;Guidelines for the use of EN 301 790.

In the U.S., WildBlue is rolling out consumer Internet-over-satellite service based upon ViaSat's DOCSIS-compatible SurfBeam platform. ViaSat has also deployed SurfBeam systems in Canada, France, Mexico, Colombia, and Malaysia. This new DOCSIS over satellite technology will most likely completely replace the older DVB-RCS technology.

Another competitor to DVB-RCS is Hughes Network Systems IPoS (IP over Satellite). IPoS is defined in ETSI TS 102 354.

I strongly believe that the economies of scale created by the adaptation of the DOCSIS standard to satellite transmission will make both DVB-RCS and IPoS obsolete within the next few years.
