BenQ FP202W monitor doesn´t work on DVI cable

When I connect the monitor with the DVI cable that came
with it, I keep getting a "No signal detected" message.
The monitor works fine with te D-sub cable @ 1680 x 1050
(native) resolution. My graphics card is an AGP Nvidia
GeForce FX5200. I updated the driver at the Nvidia site
and nothing changed.

I don´t have another digital monitor to try nor another
graphics card. The DVI cable was tested by a friend into
electronics and seems to be good. Also, I got a DVI to VGA
adapter and connected the DVI output of the card to the VGA
input of the monitor and worked fine.

When I couldn´t get it to work the first time, I
connected both cables to the monitor to be able to switch
and see what the computer was doing. Later on I read on
the manual that this shouldn´t be done, but it didn´t say
that any damage would result.

Any ideas?

Isn't that pretty damning evidence against the DVI input on the monitor?

Is this a new monitor, can you return it? Is it under warranty?

I was hoping to get a different answer.
Anyway, it is a new monitor, I purchased it in the States but I live in South America, so not much of a chance to return it, and I´m still not sure it is not a problem with the graphic card. It may not be the right one for this monitor.

But this card worked fine with the DB-15 input on the monitor, No?

Could you take the computer to the folks at Lapapa and try to hook it up to another DVI-compatible monitor there?
