Computer time

What would cause my computer to stop keeping the right time? I adjusted it last month and now it's slow again by about 2 minutes.

It could be the internal battery. They have a small watch type battery that holds the time. They usually will last the life of the computer but sometimes do need to be changed.

Hey LawDog,

This does sound like the Battery . Any PC repair shop would have one. Also...remember, when you put your new battery in.....make sure you ground yourself (hang on to the metal casing, or something that will ground yourself) and you will more that likely have to go into your BIO's and reset everything.

Here is a good site for doing that:http://www.ehow.com/how_113689_replace-pcs-battery.html

Hope this helps !!

If it slows down at times then upon reboot displays the correct time, you may also have an app running in the background that is stealing clock cycles to complete its task....
