DVD/DVD player skipping

My DVD player keeps skipping on a certain DVD.

I have 3 copys of it (don't ask why) and it skips on all three around the same time. I need to know if it's the DVD player or the manufacturer of the DVD that is screwed up.

Any ideas?

Is it a computer DVD player, or a standalone DVD player?

Do the DVD's play in other DVD players?

Are the DVD's burned or pressed DVD's?

Can you describe what you mean by "skipping"?

I'm guessing that they're burned, the odds of the same flaw on all 3 DVD's wouldn't make sense. And the player plays other DVD's normally I assume?

Sounds like dud DVD's, I cant understand why it happens on 3 discs though.
If they are original I would say there is a fault from the factory.

Either way, its not likely to be a problem with the DVD player.

It's a regular DVD player.

Yes, they play in my parents' player just fine.

Explain pressed? I don't think they are. Just regular DVDs.

Skipping: the picture blurrs and pauses for long periods of time, and the sound is "k---i-nd o--f like t--h-is.." Get it? Some times the movie runs without sound, but the picture still blurrs and paues etc. It's really weird.

DVD's that are manufactured in quantity are "pressed". DVD's that you make yourself are "burned".

Some DVD players have difficulty with burned DVD's.

It is similar to CDs skipping in automobiles. While purchased DVDs work quite well, and also most burned DVDs play quite well, some do not, and this all depends on the burner you are using to burn them. Some burners do not work quite as well, and they will only put out a quality CD if you're playing the CD on the computer, but put it in a car, and it skips.
