Learn more about notebooks rams here

Random Access Memory (RAM) is measured in megabytes (MB) and is the place where the notebook temporarily stores information that is on its way to or from the processor. When the notebook is turned off, data stored in RAM disappears.

Three types of RAM are available: SDRAM, DDR and SDRAM. SDRAM is the standard memory offering for PCs. DDR SDRAM has an increased frequency bandwidth over SDRAM with up to double the memory output. RDRAM features dual-channel processing for high-end multimedia tasks.

Notebook RAM is offered in either 1 DIMM or 2 DIMM form. DIMM (Dual Inline Memory Module) is a device that allows you to add memory to your alptop.
