I just installed another SATA drive to my computer. I can't get it to recognize the second drive. I did the add hardward control panel option but I got nothing.
Any other suggestions that might help me out? Sorry, I'm at work now and I don't have the current specs for my Dell Computer.
Also, Dell won't help me out since it's not a hd that came with the original computer.
Is the first drive SATA or SCSI?
Is the second drive already formated? partitioned?
Have you enabled a primary slave or secondary master in BIOS?
Do either of the drives have jumpers on the back? if so they need to be set correctly.
Please anwser these questions and we will be able to help you better, thank you.

when you get home, with the drive in, restart the computer, and when its booting up hit the F1 button or Del to bring up BIOS, and make sure your drive selection is set to AutoDetect.
This will fix your problem, if you need help post back after you get home.
Sorry McDaddy, I'll slow down a little
