RAM for MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum

I am looking to upgrade 2 gigs of RAM on a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboard with a AMD 64 x2 4400+.
Any suggestions on whats the best RAM for my setup.
I have considered the 2Gb Mushkin Redline XP4000 eXtreme but the forums suggest some have had quite a few problems with the redline.
Another option is the Crucial DDR PC3200 '¢ CL=3 '¢ UNBUFFERED '¢ NON-ECC '¢ DDR400 '¢ 2.6V '¢ 128Meg x 64.
Any pointers would be appreciated,
Thanks.

Re: RAM for MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum

The K8N Neo4 Platinum is one nice motherboard.

Are you upgrading to 2GB or from 2GB?

What memory do you have on the motherboard now?

To use dual-channel DDR, the same type and density memory modules are necessary, or instability may occur.

For complete peace of mind, you would do well to match the memory that you have in your system now -- unless you intend to remove and replace your current RAM in its entirety.

If you are going to replace all of your existing RAM, MSI recommends the use of Kingston RAM. Have you considered Kingston HyperX DDR500 PC4000?

I had 2 512's i transfered from another machine, can't even remember what make, but they were cheap.
I just gave them to my nephew to stick in his PC.
So i'm upgrading to 2 GB.
Yeah i will need the memory to be the same for sure, Didn't know MSI recommended Kingston (not a brand that i would have considered but i will check out the HyperX.
Thanks for your reply.
