Try reducing the contrast setting on your monitor.
Check your monitor cables. Be especially careful with video extender cables. Incorrect Colors
Check your video cables and connectors for bent or broken pins and wires. Sides of Picture are Not Straight
This most often occurs when you move a monitor. This is caused by the variable magnetic fields in the Earth.
Use the adjustment features of your monitor to straighten the sides of your picture. Dark Spots on the Screen

This is normal in a new monitor, although ventilation is recommended.
