USB Flash Drives

Anyone have one of these?! I just discovered them last month and they rock!!!

A USB flash drive is this kewl lil keychain sized hard drives! They can be carried around from one computer to another and plugged in via a USB cable/port. They range in size from 16MB, 256MB to 4GB for $499. I think I saw a 6G one but I don't see it now.

I have a cute lil 128MB PNY called an Attache.

I highly recommend them!

They are really handy for transferring files, but I have seen (on eBay) people selling flash drives with entire operating systems and web servers installed on the flash drive.

In a pinch, I've been known to use my digital camera as an emergency drive and xfer files that way, using either the onboard memory or the SD cards.

I have a 512MB cruzer micro, you can autorun applications on it (works as a cd-rom drive, too) but I just use it for keeping files it, in case I need to fix a clients machine. Works great, small enough that I keep it on my keychain.

Flash drives are definitely the best

thing to hit the market in a long time...I think the cost should bolt down as the market keeps growing...They have dropped already over the last few years...

I have 1GB Toshiba USB 2.0 Flash Drive! Yes, 1GB, I bought it because it's storage is a bit larger than CDs. With this flash drive, it saves me from burning a lot of 700MB CDs. I put it around my neck rather in my pocket. Well, it looks really cool!

I will wait for the price of 4GB flash drives to drop before buying them. Right now, they're quite expensive.

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2006--I/OMagic Corporation (OTCBB:IOMG), a leading provider of data storage products, announced today that it is set to ship to retailers the latest product in its portable storage line-up, the new GigaBank(TM) 8.0. hmmm 8GB for 199.99 or 2.2GB for 149.00 If i had the extra $50 i would definitely splurge and go with the 8GB even if i didn't "need" it right then... never know when you might need 5.8 more GB of space

Man, 8gb! That's almost as large as my last HD (on my old computer).. amazing! I was just looking at a 3.5 GB "Pocket Drive" today at (you guessed it!) Walmart!
