Wow, What in the World Could Have Happened?

This was something weird that happened to my father. He had both a desktop and a laptop in his bedroom. When he tried to turn on the desktop computer, there was a large spark in the back of his computer, and the power source was blown out. Next, he turned on his laptop, and the same thing happened. Boom, out of comission as well. The weird thing was, the laptop was running on battery, and not plugged into the wall. He installed a new computer later, and it works just fine.

Totally confused as to what could have happened.

Wow, that is weird! One might assume that the power supply couldn't take one more jolt of power and blew... since it was plugged into the wall. But why the laptop would up and do the same thing... at the same time... odd!

I take it, nothing else but the power supplies were fried?? Typically a sudden surge of electricity will kill a few other pieces of hardware too.

Hmm the laptop is a weird one there. If it was plugged in I would say its a power surge causing it, but on batteries? Gee that would have to be quite a high voltage of static electricity to cause that at the same time the other PSU died.

Apart from being haunted, there really is no explanation other than coincidence!

Haha, haunted. XD Must be the ghost of someone who hates computers!

I have NO idea what happened. The exact same thing happened to both of them...maybe there was some bizzaro electrical interference or something. He upgraded to a new HP computer, it's been fine so far. *knock on wood*
