For the most part, you just match the pin functions between the standards.

The one exception is that the DB9 has 9 pins and the RJ-45 has 8 pins, so you multiplex DSR and RI on one pin of the RJ-45.

Data Set Ready / Ring Indicator (DSR/RI)
RJ-45 Pin: 1
DB-9 Pin: 6 / 9

Data Carrier Detect (DCD)
RJ-45 Pin: 2
DB-9 Pin: 1

Data Terminal Ready (DTR)
RJ-45 Pin: 3
DB-9 Pin: 4

Signal Ground (SGND)
RJ-45 Pin: 4
DB-9 Pin: 5

Receive Data (RD)
RJ-45 Pin: 5
DB-9 Pin: 2

Transmit Data (TD)
RJ-45 Pin: 6
DB-9 Pin: 3

Clear to Send (CTS)
RJ-45 Pin: 7
DB-9 Pin: 8

Request to Send (RTS)
RJ-45 Pin: 8
DB-9 Pin: 7

Do you mean "What does the acronym 'DB' stand for?"

It stands for "Data Bus."
