I want to know the use of NETWORK SIMULATOR2... from where can i download the application and how to install that one .....it has to work under windows xp/2000.can u help me......thanks in advanz.......

Network Simulator 2 can be downloaded in source code form from SourceForge.

It can then be built using the instructions documented at Running Ns and Nam Under Windows 9x/2000/XP Using Cygwin.

The current version of Network Simulator 2 is 2.30. You can download a prebuilt executable of Network Simulator 2 version 2.28.

hai.... i have downloaded the Network Simulator 2 version 2.28 from net.and i have also installed cygwin also.....while installing the exe files from Network Simulator 2 version 2.28.....i am getting an error like..."cygwin dll is not found" give some assistance for me.....thanks in advanz...........

What is the exact error message you are receiving and what is the last thing you did before you received that error message?

It sounds like CygWin is not installed correctly.

Hello, I am Italian and I excuse me for my English bad one.

My problem is:
after to have installed NS2 2,30 all-in-one, tested, validated and tried, now I want to install expansion “UCBT” for the simulation from the bluetooth, reperibile from http://www.ececs.uc.edu/~cdmc/ucbt/.
Which I do not succeed to make.
Someone can explain step step the operations execute in order to equip NS with this expansion?

Which operating system are you compling this under?

What error messages are you seeing from `make`?

My version of linux is SUSE 10.0.

The commando “make” I have not executed it.

I have executed the commando “ns-allinone-2.30/ns-2.30/ucbt- 0.9.9.2 # ./install-bt”.

The message that it visualizes to me is:
Looks like ns generated Makefile found. Either you invoked ./install-bt [- d|-t] in the wrong directory, or ns has (attempted) been installed. Please have to fresh ns-all-in-one tarball, and use “. /instll-bt” halo to I give the whole installation.

Kindly then to explain step step what I must make to me in order to add this expansion to NS?

It looks like you downloaded ucbt-0.9.9.2 and are trying to install it without first downloading and untarring ns-allinone-2.28.tar.gz.

Is that correct?

ucbt-0.9.9.2 must be untarred into the ns-allinone-2.28/ns-2.28/ directory.

It's all documented (tersely) in the INSTALL file.

oh, I have resolved.

It is like you said, in fact I have tried to install ns 2,29 and to apply ucbt over. All to place and it works to the large one.

Now would serve me only a manual of ucbt and has resolved all my problems.
