Unable to establish VPN Connection

Im trying to access the VPN wirelessly. I only have the IP address of my router and used it in the VPN set up. When i tried to use our internal ip address in the network, VPN is working properly. When i tried to use the external IP address wirelessly, i cannot establish a VPN connection. Error: unable to establish the VPN connection. The VPN server may be unreachable, or security parameters may not be configured properly for this connection. Any ideas?????

Is your router also your VPN server? If not, you will need to enter the external IP address of your VPN server, not of your router.

Are your internal network addresses reachable from the wireless network?

Are your internal addresses 10.x.x.x, 192.168.x.x, or 172.16.x.x addresses? (i.e. RFC 1918 private address space).

VPN unable to establish connection

i just created a new connection for the vpn and i think the router is also the vpn server. I think our router is only a VPN router and not a wireless router. Does it affect VPN connecting to the router???

VPN Connections

I cant use VPN internally. I guess the problem will be our router since its only a VPN router and not a wireless router. If this is the case, is there any way i can still use VPN?

Yes, you just have to configure your network to make your VPN server (router) reachable from the wireless network.

This may involve nothing more than configuring a NAT rule on your wireless router.

Is your VPN server (router) on RFC 1918 private address space? (10.x.x.x, 192.168.x.x, or 172.16.x.x)

Is the IP address range of your VPN server (router) reachable from your wireless network?
