Compaq Presario SR5350F

Compaq Presario SR5350F

A low-cost desktop is just what the Compaq Presario SR5350F is. However, for its affordable price of just $460 (conveniently under $500), it certainly does pack in loads of nice features. For example it includes a Vista Home Premium system that a lot of people are after. And a great bonus for those who are into the digital stuff is that it runs quite smoothly when it comes to running standard applications and for managing a great digital library for you videos, music, and photos as well. The Presario SR5350F is a prebuilt retail system though. This means that it only comes in one configuration and you aren’t given the freedom to customize it.

Just like any other desktop computer, the Compaq Presario SR5350F comes with its pros and comes with its cons as well. As for the pros, the first thing is that it’s very inexpensive. Along with this, however, the SR5350F packs in a lot of RAM and has a considerably large hard drive. With 350GB of storage, you can certainly benefit greatly. There are a few cons that come with this desktop though. First off is its unfortunately slow processor. It also has inadequate integrated graphics, and a bundled mouse that isn’t an optical one, rather a ball-styled one.

The components of this system include a 1.8GHz Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2160 processor. It also has two sticks of 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2 memory, providing for a total of 2GB. All of this is placed on an Asus IPILP-LC motherboard with integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics.

There are many other benefits of this desktop that are noteworthy. As mentioned before, it has a 360GB Seagate hard drive. Compared to other systems around the same price range, this is a significantly greater amount of hard drive space. The Presario SR5350F also has a DVD/CD combo writer with LightScribe labeling capability and a memory card reader. These features are definitely useful if you want to easily transfer your pictures from your digital camera and perhaps burn them on a CD or DVD.

This system even includes a bundled Compaq Wf1907 19-inch LCD which has a resolution of 1440 x 900. This LCD monitor has respectable image quality, with a screen that displays precise color graphics, and easily readable text. It also offers digital inputs and analog inputs as well. Along with this, it has lightweight built-in speakers. Although these speakers aren’t optimum for movie sound tracks, it works great if you’re just listening to your typical Windows sounds.

The Presario SR5350F comes with a sleek black-and-silver minitower case. This case conveniently has connectivity port labels along with customer support info-nice hand-holding. The external connections found on this case are can be accessed effortlessly. This system also provides three open drive bays and three card slots. However, a bad side to this is that the FireWire ports on this case are absent.

With Compaq’s Presario SR5350F, you will definitely get a lot for a small price to pay. It performs well, and it has a great amount of storage space. Even though it may not be the best in graphics, it still delivers enough for you to solidly perform your multimedia tasks.
