Dell XPS 420 - the new revolution in gaming desktop

We'll take a closer look on this system.

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX 720MB, PCI-e x 16 slots, PCIe x 1 slot, 3 PCI slots.

Audio: Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Extreme Music

This desktop powered by Intel Core 2 processor (Quad or Extreme depending on price). The cooling and ventilation has been giving serious attention by Dell providing the 2 large opening at the front on each side. It will sucks air through this opening and out at the back to keep the system cool just like the vehicle cooling system. The capacity of the memory is 2GB. It also come with Dell's 22' widescreen LCD monitor, Bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse (wired USB optical mouse included).

Reason of posting: to get some feedback from members before considering buying it.

Hope to get some feedback from you guys.

Lyte & Other members,

I WILL NEVER buy a Dell If it was the last computer left on earth.

I had a Dell "Dimension 2400". (I sold it 2 days ago )!!

Long story short, I bought the system from a lady (under full warranty for 2 years). I check it out at her house, everything seemed fin home & discovered the the CD-R wasn't showing up om the system specs. I went on line and "chatted (typed) to their "tech support" discussed what was going on with my system. He finally ask me if he could "look" inside my PC (using remote). Sure, why not, I've tried everything. ( I'm have several Microsoft Certifications & repair PC for a living). This tech a my pointer going everywhere. He finally went into my "registry" & stated to delete a bunch of fies. The he came to a conclusion the the CD-R wasn't working. DUH !!

He sit up a meeting between their tech & myself. The tech was coming over to my house to install the part. ( I could have, but why, I have a warranty on the PC). The tech had the work phone number & I typed & talk to Dell's so-call tech support. Got the phone number straighten out. I reporter all this on 01-26-08. Finally on the 02-10-08, Dell's (sub-contracted) came out. He replaced the DC-R, guess what, the mother-broad was "shot", he installed a new mother-broad. That was shot too. The on on-broad video card was fried !!

Oh yea, the sent him a DVD-R, wrong part. I have a DVD-R already on the system. He was pissed & my blood pressure went through the roof !!

He said he would have to re-order the parts. Mean while I got a hold of Dell's U.S. office located in Texas. I finally got a hold of Mr. Paul D. Bell , Senior Vice President and President of Americas Region. ( I have Friends in high places). I told him of what was going on, e-mailed him of all the chat-logs. I told him that Dells make good products, be the "customer service" SUCKS !!

I had Dell calling me every day, asking if the problem had been solved. Tue, Feb.12, 2008, the problem was solved. 18 days it took Dell to replace parts !!

People, DO NOT BUY A DELL SYSTEM !!!!
