Polywell Poly i7050

Polywell Poly i7050

If you are looking for a small, compact, and space-saving desktop, then the Polywell Poly i7050 just may be your perfect choice for a desktop computer. It certainly is light, as it weighs only around 12 pounds. Compared to the 28 pounds which the Dell Inspiron 530 packs in, that’s pretty light! The Polywell Poly i7050 delivers a generally strong and solid performance. That is, in the case of basic tasks like using general applications and surfing the web. However when it comes to fast-action games, you might not want to be depending on this desktop.

When looking over the pros and cons that stand out the most in this desktop, you will see that the great benefit of having a small and compact desktop is evened out by its few limitations. Sure, the Poly i7050 is a spectacular space saver. It also has a generally strong and solid performance. However with a compact case, it gives little room for expansion. The Poly i7050 also offers only one free drive bay and delivers weak integrated graphics.

There are a few featured highlights of this undersized desktop that you might enjoy. First is its Quad-Core Intel Core2 Extreme / Core2 Duo processor. It also has nVIDIA GeForce 7050 + nForce 610i Chip and NVIDIA GeForce 7050 graphics. Along with all of this is its Support DDR2 800/667 memory, Support 4 SATA2 HD, RAID 0, 1, 5, 0+1, and 2 x PCI, 1 x PCI E x 16 slots.

When taking into account the performance, the Poly i7050 executes tasks well. When it came to productivity application benchmarks, this desktop scored pretty marvelously. It achieved a WorldBench 6 Beta 2 score of 77, a score which the Sys Technology Sys Slimline Si200 also got. This score also happens to be the best among other scores which other desktops got.

However when it came to graphics, the Poly i7050 unfortunately tested poorly. There’s a bummer for gamers. This is because this low-priced system uses integrated graphics opposed to the discrete graphics cards which better desktops offer. It does have a PCI Express x 16 slot as mentioned before, though. With this, you can insert a low-profile graphics card into your system. This can actually improve the graphics performance of your desktop.

All of the components of the Polywell Poly i7050 can be found in its small black-and-silver case which carries dimensions of 13 x 16 inches. Its height doesn’t even reach 4 inches. This can also come in a cube shape if you please. It has a convenient number of vents on the sides, top, and rear, helping the unit to stay cool. Also it has a CPU fan which is actually suitably quiet.

The Poly i7050 even comes with a KDS K-92BW 19-inch LCD.
