Bad computer Day

well week before last. ihad a bad coputer day. my computer just froze up. i was like what the heck. well i pulled the power and pluged it back in and the monitor would not come on. so i decided i would open the case and take a look inside to what the problem could be. (kinda wish i hadent now.) my liquid cooling system sprung a leak right on top of the water block. processor, motherboard,a nd video card. gone. all gone. no more. by by.

after sitting there for well over a year with no problems. the hose just springs a leak at the connection. what caused this i have no idea. but it sucks. oh yeah. lower power supply wet as well. (i had 2 power supplies). on the positive note, because of this i had to get another computer so i got a HP 6040. i like it so far. any ways there will be no more overclocking or power machines in my future for a while. i have to finnish school first. i guess i will now work on selling my good componets and stuff to help me pay for my new computer i just purchased.

I was watching some TLC or Discovery show a while back and there's this whole industry built around recovering data after water damage due to fires, floods and the like. So, I was thinking at least the hardrive might be salvageable. Either way, I'd be curious enough to try!

For example... check this...

"If your business experienced data loss as a result of flooding, unplug your computer equipment immediately and move it to a secure, dry area. If the computer is wet or submerged, remove the hard drive(s) and carefully seal them in a dry, zip-lock plastic bag. ADR Data Recovery suggests that you wear rubber gloves when handling the flooded computer equipment due to potentially hazardous conditions which may have seeped into the water.

Do not take apart the hard drive and allow the hard drive to "air dry", and please do not use a hair-dryer to 'blow dry' the hard drive. Doing so may cause water deposits, dirt, sand or silt to damage inside the mechanisms. Do not attempt to hand clean or operate a hard drive that has been submerged in water and then installed into a new computer."
