Built in speakers

This is really a bit of a rant about built in speakers!!!

It really annoys me that speakers which are built into the computer screen are really poor quality. I don't understand it, with technology these days you would have thought that they would be able to make decent speakers that can fit into your computer screen, or something like that.

What are your speakers like, are they good quality?

I know exactly what you mean, the speakers that are on my laptop are absolutely awful. I love music and I thought that it would be really good being able to listen to the songs I wanted in the car on long journeys but unfortunately I was wrong, it is pretty much impossible to listen to music on these terrible speakers.

It costs quite a lot for good quality speakers to be produced. It the manufacturers were to put a lot of effort into the speakers, we as the customers would have to pay more and considering we want everything as cheap as possible these days we wouldn't want to pay the extra.

Check out what Tiger Direct.com offers in the way of speakers. They have some (two pieces) as low at $6.99 USD. Are they best on the block?! No, but they'll beat whatever built in speaks you may have.

This thread reminded me of the speakers that came with my new computer.. I still hadn't installed them and finally dragged them out of the closet and hooked them up. Forgot I'd even had them. Was still using my old ($6 Big Lots) ones.

I'm exactly the same I have a couple of speakers in my cupboard which came free with the computer but I'd much rather use the built in speakers because they allow you to keep the desk tidier. It is a shame that they are rubbish.

I'm not big on making noise as I live in an apt complex and can hear every noise outside my front door so never turn things up to loud. (If I can hear them, they can hear me)

I do want to get a nice set of speakers at some point tho and a great set of headphones as well.

Just buy a cheap 10 dollar pair of speakers. You will have stereo sound then anyways. Some built in speakers are good, but rare....

Built in speakers aren't worth a damn. Spend 10 dollars and get a pair. :p

I'm another one that hates built in speakers. I began using head phones instead because they are much better quality than speakers, which I've found strange because they are small and cheap.
