Dual Boot ??

Hey All,

I just received a "MAXTOR ATA/100 200GB" hard drive. I want to install this HD into my system. I'm running 98SE for my "master" and the "slave" as a 2nd HD. I want to divide the "new" HD into 3 sections.....1/3 for XP-pro, 1/3 for 98SE back-up and the final 1/3 for a LINUX system. I know I will need a "Dual-Boot" software (I think). So.....my question is....how do I do all of this ??

Thanks in advance

Hey,

The easy way to do this, is first install xp-pro on the drive, and telling the windows installer to set the drive in 3 partitions, installing xp on the first. Then, once thats installed, insert your linux cd, and run that installer, and tell it to use the second partion, this will also instlall a bootloader program for you, which xp-pro and most linux have. so now at this point, when you turn on your computer, you will get a menu to ask which OS to use. You can not install 98 with that cd on the third partion, and after that the boot menu will show all 3 OS's.

If thats not very clear let me know, I am typing in a hurry,

Opps, I read that wrong, he (you) can do that.
You can also, partion it for 98se and continue to run it on the one drive, and use the new partion along with the other drive.
