There really is not one fastest mobo, it all depends on the FSB and the chipset, mixed with the CPU speed and FSB and the Memory, its a mixture of the parts that makes a computer faster than another. If you want to build a very fast system, you should start looking at AM2 boards for the AMD chipsets.

fastest

like oulzc said. there isnt.

but i like motherboards designed for overclocking. you dont have to overclock to take full effect of these boards potential. you can simply sicy you ram timing with you cpu timing and get fairly good increces in speed. no after market cooling necessary

I will not give you model and brand name, Dont forget the motherboard also have memories, so buy the one which have more memory, L2 should be 512k minimum, if you have 1024k cache then your processor will work very fast.

That is called the Cache, and that is on the processor, not the motherboard

true, but new mother baords have L3 cache built in to the motherbaord. it is a relativly new thing though. you can now get processors with cash of up to 2 meg.
