I have been using Arctic Silver for a while now and it has worked fairly well for me. I have also tried a generic paste I got with a fan one time, but ended up removing it and replacing it with Arctic Silver later on.
What grease are you using for your CPU installations and such?
Artic Silver, Arctic Silver! That thermal paste seems to be the best for processors in order to retain coolness. My barebones computer came with a strip that "sticks", but everyone on the Shuttle forums recommends against it so Arctic Silver was used.
I only know of arctic silver, but I dont use any paste anymore because CPU's now come with a thermal pad which does the job that the paste used to do.
Alot less messier too.
It is not considered necessary to use the paste and the pad together.
The pad performs the same purpose as the paste anyway, so its a waste of time/money.
I think you can actually wreck the thermal pad by using paste on it - it can make the pad become soft and removed from the surface.
