Headphones and Speakers

I use both a headset(with a mic) and speakers frequently, but I get very tired of un-plugging the headphones and plugging in the speaker wire, and vise versa. Is there some kind of wire link or anything else that can enable me to switch from headset to speakers and speakers to headset a much efficient and faster way? I also have an integrated sound card so I couldn't plug anything in to that correct...?

What you are looking for is the Plantronics PC Headset Speaker Switch.

With the Plantronics PC Headset Speaker Switch you can can use your computer speakers and headset at the same time. No more fumbling around with wires and plugs when you want to use your headset instead of your speakers. The Plantronics PC Headset Speaker switch enables you to easily swap between the two with the touch of a button. This small device requires very little space. This is a convenient solution to your headset needs and takes only seconds to install. Just plug it into your sound card and you're ready to go.

Oh, exactly what I am looking for. I might just go to a retail store like Fry's or bestbuy and buy it, even though I don't save a couple of bucks. Thanks.

I know exactly what you mean. I will wait a month to buy something, and then I will be too impatient to wait for shipping.

Besides, it's fun to go to Fry's!

We don't have Fry's here, but MicroCenter is pretty good too.

So is it better to get this or just a simple Y adapter?

Really, no Fry's?!

A Y adapter was my first thought, but then it occurred to me that you could not leave then both plugged in at the same time.

You might not care if your headphones were also going when you were listening to your speakers, but you would definitely care if your speakers were going when you were listening to your headphones.

No Fry's for maybe a thousand miles from here!

Hn... I didn't even need to buy anything :P
I just plugged in my speaker line to the soundcard like normal and I plug the headphone line in the speaker itself. Then I used a wire I found that I could connect the end of the mic to it and the wire has a end that can be plugged right into the mic input. Simple, if I want to hear stuff in my headphones I'll plug it into the speaker and if I don't just un-plug. I think it's faster than a switcher lol, or maybe the same, 1 sec to plug in or pull out.

Hm... yeah I just found my Y adapter and unfortunately like you stated, my headphones are going off when I turn my speakers on and vise versa. So a Y adapter is not a good idea?

Usually the reason I'm using headphones is so that I don't annoy those around me with the sound of whatever I'm doing.

So, a Y adapter probably isn't the best solution unless you intend to unplug the speakers constantly.
