Hi pc101.

This is my first post.

Does it matter which you make your master and slave drives when installing a dvd writer and dvd rom drives?

If both would be able to read and boot from a CD, then i dont think it should matter. But if i were to choose one, i would have the ROM as master.

it does not matter, but i recomend that the master be used for the main boot drive. just a rule of thumb

Welcome!

I think the only thing that matters is that the master be the one with the Operating System. Can you boot from HD that's the slave with no OS???

nope, don't think so. I believe you can only boot from your primary.(not 100% sure on this yet though.)

It does not matter really, but you do want the ROM as the primary and writer as the slave, just so if you go into bios to make the boot first the rom (bootable dvd) it uses the fastest loading drive, writers to note run live as fast, so I would recomend the rom

But again, its not important either way, unless you think like me

And so yes firestorm you can not boot from a slave dvd/cd drive, only the primary.
