The KT4V mainboard:

• Supports six memory banks using three 184-pin DDR SDRAM.
• Supports up to 3GB memory size.
• Supports DDR400*/DDR333/DDR266/DDR200 SDRAM
• Does not support ECC memory

MSI recommends the following 512MB DIMMs:
  • Samsung 512M (K4H560838D-TCC4)x1
  • TwinMos 512M (TMD7608F8E50B)x1
  • Apacer Winbond 512M (W942508BH-5)x1
  • TwinMos Winbond 512M (W942508BH-5)x1
  • Winbond 512M (W942508BH-5)x1
What speed is your Front Side Bus (FSB) set to, 200, 266, or 333Mhz? That will affect what speeds of memory will work properly on your motherboard.

Probably the companies are owned by relatives. Taiwan is a small country.

Corsair modules are assembled in Fremont California, but I believe that the chips are manufactured elsewhere.

Micron (Crucial) has memory manufacturing plants in Boise Idaho, Manassas Virginia, Avezzano Italy, and Nishiwaki Japan. They also assemble memory modules in Singapore, East Kilbride Scotland and Aguadilla Puerto Rico.

Infineon AG manufactures memory modules at their facilities in Porto Spain and Richmond Virginia.

It's truly a global economy!

Well those are the good brands then.. no offence to Taiwan or Korea.. but Im not fond of products from those countries, i find they are not well made.
Whether its RAM or a car..
