Next gen GPU's!

at Computex it was said that the new GPUs will range in power consumption from 130W up to 300W per card.
Thats a crazy amount of power, remember the days when we had a 300w PSU running the whole system?
Now it will only run the video card!

Tis true, just like most mechanical devises (cars, boats.. your toaster ) the more you ask them to do the more power they're going to need to do the task! Seems like everything relating to computers is getting faster... smaller... hotter... you name it!

new phisics card

there is a new card in development that is a phizics card. it wiil assist the video card in the area of calculating phisics, (explosions, bullet drop, car body damage) it will then send the info backk to your video card which will lay the graphics on top and such. or at least that is the idea. it is still development.

And you can use 2 of these cards together I believe.
Imagine the power, do we really need that power though?

The best games out there barely touch on the surface of what is possible even with todays video cards so I cant imagine all that power being used or required.
