Pentium M CPU running at half speed
I have a problem with my new laptop.
Its a Pentium M 725 1.6Ghz.

I tried running age of empires 3, only to be met with a message that my processor is only running at 800mhz so could not run the game.

So I quickly downloaded a CPU utility and lo and behold, my 1600Mhz Pentium M 725 is running at 600mhz!

I have posted a screenshot here of the utility.

Surely I dont have to mess with multiplier settings etc to make it run at its real speed?

Does anyone know why it is only running at half speed?
Why would it be restricted like this straight out of the factory?

Any help appreciated!

The Pentium M CPU's are designed to conserve power whenever possible.

For testing purposes, can you disable all power saving options in your system BIOS?

Who is the manufacturer of the laptop?
