Question - Testing for bad LCD's

We just bought a new 37" HD monitor. What is the best way to test the LCD's to see if any of them are bad?

Do we do this manually by combing over the display, or is there a program that we can run which will test the display?

Oh, this is kewl!! I have a wee 17" LCD I bought seven years ago and never thought to see if any of the pixels were dead! Now, I'm curious!!

I sure hope a new one doesn't have any dead pixels!

I also found another program called JScreenFix which looks pretty good. I have learned so much about this from researching it this past week and I might even collect all the data and put it in a article so that others don't have search the entire net to learn about this. So far it looks like no stuck or dead pixels I'm just glad it's not a plasma TV

By all means I'll post it on my site and then head straight over here so that you can pin it somewhere. The more people that see it, the more people it can help There is also a trick that you can use to fix dead (non-working) pixels. A lot of people assume that dead pixels are not working because they are bad or defective, but sometimes they are just misaligned or loose. There are also a lot of rumors about LCD screens being burned in with images, but this is not possible with LCD's like it is with CRT's or plasma sets. There is however an optical illusion that looks like a burned in image with LCD's, but I'll explain how to get rid of that issue and why it's not actually a image that's been burned into them. If there's anything that you are curious about, or that you feel I should cover in the article, just let me know
