What are DVD-RW

If I ever go into the shops to pick up some blank CD's or DVD's I always see some other DVD's which are called DVD-RW. I've always bought the DVD-R because that is what my partner tells me to get but could someone please tell me what the difference between DVD-R and DVD-RW are.

here you go

cd-r you can only wright to once
cd-rw you can wright to then erase and rewright many times over

it depends on if you have a rewrightable dirve or not.

Be aware too Julie that not all CD/DVD drives can read CD-RW. So don't go for the RW's unless you know your CD/DVD hardware can read it!

Another word of warning, there is a difference between DVD-RW and DVD+RW. They were both developed by different companies and the information is put onto the different disks in different ways. Also a DVD-RW player can not play DVD+RW disks so be aware of this.

That's right Lyte - DVD RW (Re-Writable) can be re-written (i.e. written and then once you've finished with it you can write it again) and you can only write the DVD once with DVD-R

u got the answer.
but the amazing thing is the dvd+rw
it is amaizing because writing and erasing is very very easy.
