Accepting a Microsoft Outlook calendar invite deletes the e-mail message

By default, accepting a Microsoft Outlook calendar invite deletes the e-mail message to which the meeting invitation was attached.

The problem is, that message often contains useful information about the meeting and attachments that you want to keep seperately.

To keep from deleting the email with a calendar invite do the following:
  1. Tools
  2. Options
  3. Preference Tab
  4. Email Options
  5. Advanced Email Options
  6. Remove the Check from “Delete meeting request form Inbox when responding”
