Problem - Any suggestions on how to fix Windows XP Pro without an installation disk

My computer came pre-installed with Windows XP PRO and I did not get a boot disk. When I try and install new toolbars to my browser (firefox), the error message "Your operating system (win9x) is not supported". I have tried a system restore, have used a couple of windows registry tools, and I am at a loss. Any suggestions would be helpful.

It all depends on "what" make your PC is ? Dell come with "Restore" disk. HP, has a "system restore" files on your hard-drive. Firefox is tricky to treak !! The registry tools you said you have, be very careful using them.

Please ley us know the "make" & "model" of your PC?

I have a few things we can try if you've not already fixed your issue. First, like DR911 said, what brand is you PC? Second is a couple of things, like some company's that don't give restore CD/DVD's have the restore on the hard drive that you can restore, recover or even a windows restore to an earlier date from the recovery partition. Now on the FireFox issue, when did you install it? Do you have the most recent version, or have you tried re-installing a fresh copy?

Let me know, I am confident if you haven't already fix the issue I can help you resolve it.

If you have any Windows XP or Vista issues feel free to send me a Private message or an E-mail me directly. I have above average knowledge and experience with primarily Windows XP or Vista issues. If I don't off hand know the answer I will research it to further my competency in the program.
