Problem - Cant format my C drive

My friend has a cybercafe ( rent computer with internet access).
He has 12 computer:
Pentium 3
128 Ram
Those 12 computer are Intel and was designed at 2000 year.
Original OS was windows 98.
6 month ago I installed win XP in all those computers.

Now I have a problem:
One computer has 2 partitions C and D
I installed again windows xp in D and have to wait 4 hours before installation was suscefully, why?
when Windows instalation software was running in a part of installation need to read C aswell. In this case took 4 hours to read C partition.

Is obvious that C has error or problems.

Well now D is running great.
Like C has error I tried to format but was not possible I dont know why.
cant format using ms dos, can format using windows XP cd.

my question is: how can I format C?

Hi limainfinita,

Question... when you type "format c:" and it asks you if you are are sure, you say "Yes." Then what happens??

if you are in windows you can also format other drives easily. Format c: is only the command to format any drive, its so much easy.
