Choose between Windows 98 or Windows XP log-in screen

• Navigate to Start > Run and click on Run.
• In the input field, type "regedit" and then press enter.
• Navigate to the following key in the registry by clicking on the +'s next to the folders in the left pane (see picture below).
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon
• Right-click a blank space in the right-hand pane and go to New > DWORD.
• Name the new DWORD "LogonType".
• Double click the new DWORD.
• For the value, enter "0" and click OK.
• Note: If you want to change it back to the XP login screen, change the value of "LogonType" to 1.
• Close regedit.

Change Login?

My question is why would one want to do this in the first place? Please fill me in. If I'm running XP, why would I opt to log in under a Windows 98 screen?

Its has a more professional look.
Also I believe because it has the security feature of users having to click alt-ctrl-del before logging in.
XP does not have these features.
