oh, sorry,
i forget to tell u people one thing more and that is that i am running windows 2000 server on a virtual machine (VMWARE).
and on VMwere the actual problem is simply.now plz give answer in this context.

To be blunt, I absolutely hate setting up servers on Windows 2000 (or any Windows network for that matter).
I have never set up a WINS server and dont plan to.

Why did you create 2 similar threads on this topic?
If you type 'setup wins server' into google you will be surprised just how many results there are... :?
