Get Off-Screen Windows Back onto Your Desktop

I had a friend who showed me on his laptop how we could see the application is running in the taskbar but can't see it on the screen?? It took me forever to find out the problem! It's cuz he had his laptop hooked up to an external monitor and now,the laptop thinks it's STILL running on the external monitor. You use right-click, Move, but that did not change anything or move the window anywhere.

There’s an easy trick to go around this. First off, make sure you’ve alt-tabbed to the window, or clicked on it once bring it into focus. Then right-click on the taskbar and choose ‘Move’

You should see at this stage that your cursor changes the “Move” cursor, but you still can’t move anything.

Just press any one of the arrow keys (Left, Right, Down, Up), move your mouse, and the window should magically "pop" back onto the screen.

Note: For the keyboard crafty people, you can just alt-tab to the window, use Alt+Space, then M, then Arrow key, and then move your mouse.

This trick should work on any version of Windows. As simple as this little trick may seem, it’s surprising to know how many people are still unaware of this.
