Good MP3 Ripper

I want to know which free software is good to copy audio CD's to MP3.

I was trying earlier to copy just as files but its not working that way. Then someone told me to search for mp3 ripper.

The top three to look at are probably dBPowerAmp, CDDA Extractor, and Exact Audio Copy.

I use Audio Grabber. It works really well for me. But now a days I dont get much time to rip those audio CD's.

I would like to try dbPowerAmp now. I have heard about it quite a few times.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried out db Power Amp. It was good.

Someone told me that Windows Media Player comes up with its own pipper. Any idea how to use it?

There is an option called "COpy Music" in windows media player ( i think from version 7 onwards) in windows media player 10 you directly have an option called "RIP" which you can see on the main tabs beside NOW PLAYING ,etc.
you can use it to rip audio cds...but i am not sure if you can use it to convert one mp3 format to another.

I have used Audiograbber which I really like as it accesses the CDDB which is an online database that automatically retrieves the song name on the disc.

Windows Media doesn't rip to mp3, it rips to wma. I like mp3 personally, and Music Match Jukebox lets you rip and it contacts the CDDB info for you. It just rips slowly in the free version.

AudioGrabber works great, its the only one I have used, but it works great and does all the things I need it to do. You should check it out.

I tried Music Match once but found it to be too slow. I think it is a media player as well, so it often tried playing the CD when I just wanted to rip it.

Audiograbber is much quicker. In a simple click you can access the FreeDB (get CD song names), choose your MP3 or WAV settings, and rip the CD

I use the classic Windows Media Player to rip mine, Real1 does it well too. Either one is simple to use and requires very little effort or tech knowledge.

I think WinAmp now has a built in CD ripper as well, is that right?
I'm still using WinAmp 5 but I'm quite sure the new version has this function.

There are some plugins for Winamp that record to mp3 while you are playing but it's hard to use. It's useful for recording Shoutcast radio though  .

CD Ripper

I, too, use Audiograbber, and it's a really great program to transfer music. I've been using it for quite some time, and since I'm a musician, it really comes in handy. Additionally, it's really easy to use, so you wouldn't need to be computer savy to use it.

True that.
Its just 2 or 3 clicks, of course there are more options you can select, but for basic ripping its simple.
Make sure though to choose your encoding bit rate - I usually choose 192k or above.
