Do you want to create floppies that boot Windows XP or a floppy that boots MS-DOS?

Windows XP Bootable Floppies

Read How to obtain Windows XP Setup boot disks.

It's pretty spooky when it says:

How to Create an MS-DOS Bootable Floppy from Windows XP

1. Insert a floppy disk into your floppy drive.
2. Open the Start Menu.
3. Click <My Computer>
4. Hover over "3 1/2 Floppy (A:)"
5. Click your right mouse button to bring up a menu.
6. Click <Format...>
7. Check the box that says "Create an MS-DOS startup disk"
8. Click <Start>

You would really only need this if your cd drive is broken, as the XP install cd is bootable

Sometimes you need a boot disk, such as when you want to upgrade your motherboard BIOS.

True, many times I have needed to boot MS-DOS to format my hard drive and other such situations, but the XP bootable floppy can't do such things, its just a plain bootable floppy, with minimal DOS functions on it.

I use my friend's system, which has Windows ME, to create a bootable floppy.
