Long Loading

After the WinXP splash screen, my computer goes to the blue screen and says Windows Starting Up and it takes about a minute for it to go to the actual blue login screen. Before I did a Recovery Console this didn't happen, is there a way to restore it how it was, just splash screen then right to login? Also, is there a way to set the blue screen so it just says Welcome and loads to the desktop without having me to click the icon because I didn't set a password what's the point of clicking it?

The next place to look can be found by executing the command control userpasswords2.

In the window that pops up, uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer."

However, given the troubles you mentioned in the other thread -- I wouldn't bother trying to fix anything else manually. I would reinstall to get my machine back to a "known good" state. That could be a lot easier, in the long run, than fixing a large number of little problems.
