Microsoft's Words

Ok...I'm "stumped" !!

I'm using Microsoft's© Word 97. I want to make some flyers. You have seen them before hanging in grocery store bulletin boards or banks.

For example:

------------> Bike For Sale !!! <-----------------

At the bottom of the flyer they have their name or "Bike for Sale" with their telephone #. This is written "vertically". Then you can tear this little sheet of paper off the flyer & stick it some where. Does any one know how to do this in Words ??

Thanks,

Hey Doc,

I have Word 2000 here at work but I think this will work for you.

The way I was able to replicate that flyer was by doing the following...

1. Start with whatever text you want at the top... e.g. BIKE FOR SALE... blah blah blah...
2. Then go to TABLE, INSERT and select a table that has one row and as many columns as you want phone numbers. So, if you think you can fit 15 phone number slips on the page, select 15 colums. You may have to use the TABLES and BOARDERS tool bar in order to split the single row/single column table into 15 pieces.
3. In each of the 15 columns/square, place the curser, right click and you should see the option "TEXT DIRECTION" From here you can choose the normal horizontal or a virtical facing left or a veritcal facing right!
4. Once you've changed the text direction in each cell, you can type in the phone number and you'll be good to go!

Here's what mine looked like....

Good luck!
