Page file setings?

I have 640MB of RAM.
Should I disable Page file completely?
OR
Should I keep the Page file constant?
If yes how much should I allocate for the page file?

I have also heard of some tweak called the conservative swap file tweak.
How do I use it?

I am running Win XP SP2

Hey bbalegere,

The recommendations I've seen for changing page file settings are for 1024MB of RAM or more. The best thing I can suggest is give it shot and see if it speeds things up.

Let us know what happens!

Lyte

Yeah, don't play with your pagefile unless you have a gig of ram in your machine, if you have less, leave it at the windows defualt. And even then really, you shouldnt play with it unless you have 2 gigs, as many many people are missled on what pagefile is for. Many people will tell you to increase this, when really there is no need, and it will cause latency if you do.
