password protected folders in win 2000 or XP ?

This is a Question every average windows user would ask or wonder at least once.we all know that this is not possible in windows 98.most of win 2000 and xp users know this can be done but dont know how to ! so its nice if someone can explain how to do it.

No no... you brought it up... you should tell!

Well, for a Word document you to under Tools... Options... Save Tab and then down at the bottom (lower left) you'll see a place for a password.

u can password protect ms office documents or zip files without a hassle. I meant just a FOLDER ? without a utility software like folderguard or foldervalut !

Oh... I get what you mean now.

You can do it in XP and ME without additional software. I think you have to zip (compress) the file and then encrypt it.
