| Then use...
C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskmgr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\regedit.exe
in the run prompt
I can't remember, it's a long time since I've done it but there are ways of adding anything like that to use a short name via the run prompt, I think it's to do with C:\WINDOWS and C:\WINDOWS\system32 being in your system path, right click on my computer, in one of the tabs you'll see a button called "Environment Variables", click it and you'll get a new window, in that window there should be a system variables thing which shows "Path" with some options, check that those directories are in there and if not, add them, that should allow you to run anything in those dirs from the run prompt by just typing the file name without the full path. Sorry I can't give you any specific instructions, I don't have access to windows at the moment, if you can't find it I can post more specific instructions some other time. |
