Scandisk starts everytime XP is started

Yesterday , I found a stupid problem in my cousine's PC. 2 days ago , he tried to install BoostXP.Durin installation, there were some problem , windows hanged (as usually) and after that , everytime he opens his PC [OS XP] , he sees a scandisk at startup. There's nothing at msconfig-startup.

Is there any way to solve it ? I have found a similar problem due to HDD cache but that's for Windows 98SE or Win ME. This bug was fixed at XP !

So , I am no where ! Please help me !!

Regards

ScanDisk keeps starting because it has not completed successfully.

You could edit the hidden file C:\MSDOS.SYS to make ScanDisk stop running on bootup:

You would have to set the AutoScan option to zero:
Code:
[Options]
AutoScan=0
But... it might be better to figure out what is causing ScanDisk to fail. Perhaps you might boot up in Safe Mode to see if ScanDisk completed successfuly then?
